Mentorn Media Commissioned For First Documentary On Jaycee Lee Dugard
News Image Mentorn Media is producing the first in-depth documentary about Jaycee Lee Dugard, kidnapped as an 11-year-old and found - just last month – aged 29.

The documentary Captive for 18 Years: The Jaycee Lee Story launches the new Cutting Edge series on October 1st and interviews stepfather Carl Probyn – the first full-length interview that he has recorded.

Mr Probyn witnessed the kidnap in June 1991 and has been the prime suspect in the case for 18 years. His marriage to Jaycee Lee’s mother broke up; his life to all intents and purposes, was ruined. He reveals his story from the day he saw his stepdaughter kidnapped; his anguished 911 call to the police; how the events of the day changed his life forever and the joy and sadness that engulfed him when he heard she’d been found alive and well.

Channel 4’s Mark Raphael, commissioned the documentary and Steve Anderson is Executive Producer for Mentorn Media.

Steve Anderson said: “We have been working on the ground in California ever since Jaycee Lee Dugard was found living in the tents and sheds in the compound belonging to her kidnapper, Phillip Garrido.

“We are piecing together the key elements of an incredible story. The more we discover, the more unbelievable it is.”

The programme features interviews with some of those closest to the young Jaycee from classmates who were on the same bus she was supposed to catch to school and her headmistress. There are also exclusive interviews with neighbours and business associates of Philip Garrido who reveal that in the months before the discovery, Garrido spoke about his “conversations with God” and how a big event was coming that would change the world.

Nick London is producer/director for Mentorn Media.
