Mentorn has begun production with Rageh Omaar for an ITV documentary to mark the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War.

The one-off, hour-long documentary, The Iraq War By Numbers, sees Rageh Omaar return to the places he originally reported from in Iraq, to reveal the human stories behind the five-year-old conflict.
Omaar was present throughout the lead up to the war, the bombing of Baghdad and the subsequent desperate fall out in the weeks and months that followed.
The programme has been commissioned by ITV 1’s Controller of Current Affairs and Documentaries, Jeff Anderson and transmits in Spring 2008.
Creative Head of Current Affairs, Sam Collyns, said: “As someone who was reporting in the field before and during the war, Rageh Omaar is uniquely well placed to give a personal insight into how the country he knows so well has been transformed.”
Filming starts in a week where two further Mentorn commissions, both executive produced by Sam Collyns, transmit; Britain’s Most Wanted – This World and The Queen’s Wedding.
Britain’s Most Wanted, a This World special broadcast on Sunday 25th November on BBC TWO. The hour-long programme saw reporter Mark Franchetti gain unprecedented access to former KGB agent, Andrei Lugovoi, the prime suspect in the polonium poisoning of Russian exile Alexander Litvinenko.
The Queen’s Wedding kick starts Channel 4’s High Society Season which starts on November 29th, at 9pm and documents the untold story of how the young Elizabeth and Philip overcame many obstacles to get married 60 years ago, with the help of Lord Louis Mountbatten.
