Folio part of Mentorn Media, has been commissioned to make a follow-up to the highly successful Motorway Cops one-off for BBC ONE, it was announced today (MON).
Motorway Cops – A Traffic Cop Special, recently pulled in figures peaking at 7.1 million for BBC ONE with an average 26% share of the audience peaking at 30% share. This gave BBC ONE a healthy inheritance for the 10 0’Clock News that beat the resurrected ITV1 News at Ten.
Kate Beetham commissioner for BBC ONE immediately commissioned another one-hour special which will transmit later in the spring. Alongside this another series of Traffic Cops is already in production.
Folio Executive Producer, Matt Holden, said: “We’re delighted that the BBC have recommissioned us so quickly after the last Motorway Cops; there’s a huge appetite for these shows which consistently perform for BBC ONE.”

The Traffic Cops series is a highly successful series for BBC ONE. Traffic Cops was hailed recently as the highest-rating documentary on BBC ONE for 2007 when it secured an audience of 6.2 million and a 26% share on January 11th at 8pm.
Folio has recently finished making the sixth series of Traffic Cops which transmits later this year.
