Folio part of Mentorn Media, has been commissioned to make a three-part series following on from the highly successful Motorway Cops and Traffic Cops for BBC ONE, it was announced today (FRI).
Commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Motorway Cops, is a series of three, one-hour programmes focusing on the work of the three major police forces who together patrol over 600 miles of motorway across the midlands, the hub of Britain’s motorway system.
The series, which transmits later this year, will look at how the role of these officers is changing as more and more criminals use the roads to travel to commit crime and will also look at how new technology and is helping in the fight against crime on the roads.
Folio Executive Producer, Matt Holden, said: “We’re delighted that the BBC have recommissioned us so quickly after the last Motorway Cops specials; there’s a huge appetite for these shows which consistently perform for BBC ONE.”

Motorway Cops – A Traffic Cop Special, recently pulled in figures peaking at 7.1 million for BBC ONE with an average 26% share of the audience peaking at 30% share. Another one-off special also attracted a high audience peaking at 5.5 million and 22% share.
