Mentorn International is introducing three major new entertainment formats which are premiering in the UK this year to the global market at MIPCOM, it was announced today.
Diet on the Dancefloor is the successful format that aired on Living this Summer.
The series sees ten contestants who love to dance but lack confidence because of their size, get fit and learn to dance professionally. The programmes combine the compelling narrative of overweight people getting fit and gaining self confidence with the glamour and excitement of a dance competition.
Now a hit reality series for Sky 1, hosted by Denise Van Outen, The Ultimate School Musical is a format where ordinary teenagers from a school are set an extraordinary opportunity – and challenge! They have just weeks to rehearse their acting, dance and songs to put on a musical production to a professional standard. It delivers drama and dropouts, emotion and competition, from the nerve-wracking and all important audition stages to the big performance night on stage in front of an audience of hundreds.
Daring Duos is a format created by Mentorn Media in which each episode follows a father and teenage son as they undertake an exciting challenge. There is jeopardy and drama as they take on the task and receive training in the skills they will need, with the clock ticking towards the day they will have to do it for real. They may be recreating a Polar expedition, fighting a medieval battle as knights in armour or abseiling down a ravine. With challenges often based on real historic events, they will learn about the past and also about each other as they discover what each can achieve and they renew their relationship. A version is in production for Five.
