Independent Production Company, Mentorn Scotland are looking for people who have had bad experiences with workmen for a BBC ONE series, Cowboy Trap.
The series is presented by homes expert Clive Holland, who will visit people across the country whose lives have been disrupted due to the chaos caused by ‘cowboy’ workmen.
Clive will assess the damage from work – or lack of it - and call the builders, plumbers, electricians, roofers or joiners to account for their shoddy workmanship. In each case the problems will be fixed by the programme’s team of skilled workmen.
Clive said: “Our expert team are on hand to pick up the pieces and put right the wrongs. We’re looking for people who’ve experienced a whole range of problems - anything from poorly installed kitchens to bad wiring, bathrooms that just don’t work… and roofing rip-offs.”
The Government’s Communities and Local Government website, states that botched home improvement work wastes £1.5 billion a year.
Clive continues: “As well as naming and shaming the cowboys we also hope that we can educate viewers to prevent them from becoming victims themselves. If homeowners were more aware and spent time on planning and research, the vast majority of these rogues would simply not exist.”
