Mentorn International Sells “Make Me a Baby” to Germany

It was announced today (THURS) that Mentorn International has sold the format for Make Me a Baby to the German channel Sat.1.
German production company, Schwarzkopf is producing the series for Sat.1. The format follows 100 couples from all over the country in an incredible nine-month journey from conception to childbirth, debunking the myths of pregnancy and presenting the latest and most reliable advice for making babies. It is a hybrid format combining studio with reality and documentary elements, and work starts on production immediately.
The series launches with a two-hour special in Autumn next year followed by nine hour-long programmes and a highlights show. The current working title is "Deutschland wird schwanger”.
David Leach, Managing Director of Mentorn International, said: “This is a major format sale into Germany and we’re delighted to be cementing our relationships with Sat.1 and Schwartzkopf. The show is already in development or production in nine countries and we very much look forward to working with our German partners on their version. The format is a unique mix of reality and science, a highly entertaining way of presenting a subject that is of fundamental importance to people everywhere.”
Make Me A Baby was originally a four-part Mentorn Scotland series broadcast on BBC 3 in the UK. The format has already been a hit on NCRV in the Netherlands as a ten-part primetime series under the title “Baby Boom” winning its 20.30 slot each week. And it is currently in production for DRTV in Denmark.
Mentorn International has also optioned the show to broadcasters and producers in six other countries, including Belgium, Italy, Israel and Australia and it is currently being developed in America by Mentorn USA with partner, Ryan Seacrest.
