Benjamin Britten’s close relationships with adolescent boys are explored through his enchanting music for and about children. A German schoolboy, Wulff Scherchen, speaks for the first time about his love affair with Britten in the 1930s, and David Hemmings, in his last major interview, discusses his boyhood devotion to Britten: “I don’t think he ever stopped being a boy,” he said. Winner of the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Creative Communication, The Times described this as “a brave and beautiful film”.
