This landmark science series sees some of the world’s most eminent scientists answering some of the biggest questions that have baffled mankind for millennia.

In the first programme, Stephen Hawking answers the question that most of his peers felt would remain unknowable – how did the universe begin?

The series continues with Nobel Prize Winner Sir Harry Kroto, examining how life began, Professor Richard Dawkins looking at evolution and the origins of humankind; Baroness Susan Greenfield discussing “what is ‘self?” and concludes with Professor Ian Stewart contemplating when the world will end.
