Mentorn is one of the UK’s longest established independent television producers. Since 1985, we have made thousands of hours of television for broadcasters in the UK and worldwide. Our offices in London, Oxford, Cardiff and Glasgow produce programmes across a range of genres: drama, current affairs, factual and entertainment.

Mentorn’s dramas include the multi-award winning Britz, the gripping two-part thriller about a brother and sister, British-born and Muslim pulled in different directions by their conflicting personal experiences, The Government Inspector, about the death of Iraq Weapons expert Dr David Kelly. The Hamburg Cell was the critically acclaimed first major high drama about the September 11th hijackers. A Very Social Secretary was an award winning topical satire on the David Blunkett affair. Nostradamus was Discovery’s first ever drama commission. This year Britz, written and directed by Peter Kosminsky, won the British Academy Award for Best Drama Serial and also an RTS Award also for best Drama Serial.

Our current affairs output includes the BBC flagship politics programme Question Time, now into its 30th year; and high profile editions of BBC One’s Panorama and Channel 4’s Dispatches such as the BAFTA winning edition on Beslan. In 2007 we won the tender to make BBC One’s new religious and ethical debate show, The Big Questions which is currently mid way through a 43-week run.

Other recent successes include, BBC ONE’s three-part series with Nick Ross, Truth About Crime, high-rating Motorway Cops and Traffic Cops, ground-breaking Double Jeopardy for BBC ONE, BBC THREE’s Underage and Pregnant, BBC 2’s Russia (with Jonathan Dimbleby), At Home with the Hattons featuring world champion boxer Ricky Hatton and his family and a Cutting Edge Documentary marking the second anniversary of Madeleine McCann which followed on from the major two- hour anniversary film for ITV on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Our entertainment programmes have included, Five’s Britain’s Worst Series, Diet on the Dancefloor for LIVING and the School Musical series for Sky1 which saw Denise Van Outen transform schoolchildren into the cast of Hairspray. In the second series, which is currently transmitting on Sky1, Duncan James leads Wallasey School as they attempt to stage a Westend performance of Grease. This autumn will see the transmission of John Sergeant’s Tourist Trail for ITV 1.

In the USA Mentorn has partnered with A. Smith & Co to co-produce a new ten-part series, The Streets of America: The Search for America’s Worst Driver for the Travel Channel, and has recently produced Chef Academy following Jean Christophe Novelli as he puts Americans through their paces in a reality format for BRAVO US, and Fast and Dangerous for Fox Reality – a ten-part series featuring spectacular car chases.

Previously Mentorn USA has made two series of Paradise Hotel and is currently on Series 3 of Workout for Bravo USA.

Specialist Factual programmes have been made across all genres. They include Dangerous Adventures for Boys, The Real Fully Monty for Sky1, Oil, Sweat and Rigs (Discovery USA), Big Ideas that Changed the World (Five) and the Hawking Paradox (BBC Two).
